@percysgrowroom

you can use a standard HTML widget

Code:

<a title="example" href="https://example.com/"><img src="https://www.example.com/example.jpg" alt="example" width="64" height="64"></a>

replace "example"

title: (is displayed on mouseover)

href: site url

img: picture url

alt: (is displayed if the picture cannot be loaded)

@percysgrowroom

that's not a problem from the widget or the image code
the images may be too large or the server on which they are hosted is very slow
I use Imagify to optimize my images and reduce the loading time

but your forum generally takes a long time to load, yesterday over 20 seconds until the page was displayed

Yer it is a pain in the a*s lol. Forum was down when i got up today! Something wrong with the chat plug in.

Im going through a list of things to try and make the site faster. Thanks for all your input mate.

My host says my server is getting full too so this will be a problem.

I started this forum for fun a couple of years ago, and it took of bigger than expected. Now I am here with this huge site that all of these people love, and no idea how to run it properly for them 🙁

Im going to get rid of a lot of my plug ins, and find a new theme.

But i find my site on the front end, without the forum, runs very fast? Is it just the forum pages that take a long time to load?

Ill figure it all out eventually im sure. You guys have all been a great help.

We will figure it all out in the end 🙂

Im going to get a new theme, a redesign the pages that i have built with the page builder, it isnt many.

Im going to get rid of the contact form plug in too, there is a lot i can get rid of if i change to a lighter theme i think.

Ill also be getting rid of the fastest cache and going with autoptmise, everyone seems to recommend that.

I use short pixel for my images so that can go with that too.

Ill be moving the databases from mysam, inon, and setting up cloudflare again.

Its going to be a mission, but it will be worth it in the end i hope.

We can do this!!! lol

I use Short Pixel, and assumed it was optimising my users images on upload... it did, for the front end pics, but not for the advanced attachments for the forum.

This is one of the major causes for my site being slow, I have 25k images that need to be optimised.

 Things are getting better though, removed some plug in, downloading my back yp now so tomorrow is the day when i change the databases over and move to autotomise.
