| Hi @vanessa, I tried The hook on our forum and it does indeed prevent suggestions from being displayed, however The server is still "Working..." looking for Them. Does this happen on your forum? Hi @robert, Is There a way to avoid this server load at all? Thanks | |||||
| Stop server looking for 'discussions that may have what you're looking for' | 13 Relevance | 2 years ago | vanessa | How-to and Troubleshooting | |
| Is There a way to stop The server from doing work as a user types The title to try and show The dialog that shows 'discussions that may have what you're looking for' that shows up as a user enters a title? I know I can hide it by setting .wpf-suggested-topics-list { display: none!important; } But I'd like to avoid The server doing any work at all to calculate this. We have a fairly busy forum, and want to streamline this. | |||||

| 2 Forums on One Server and Add on Updates | 13 Relevance | 3 years ago | Macky | wpForo Integration | |
| Hi everyone. I am thinking about starting another forum. This will mean I am running 2 forums on The same server but on 2 different sites. My server has enough power for this but I am wondering if There would be any conflict with databases..... I suspect not, but thought I would ask any way to make sure. Also, I use a lot of add ons, is it possible to upgrade my subscription to those so They are "lifetime" and can be used on more than one site rather than just The one, or do I have to but a whole new subscription? | |||||

| I had to deactivate WP Foro temprorarily because my webhost critizised that The plugin makes SQL queries that make The The server crash eventually. It looks like a maintenance job The plugin is doing. See below. | 500 Internal Server Error | 13 Relevance | 6 years ago | jkupitz79 | How-to and Troubleshooting | |
| I got this error immediately after activating WPForo: 500: internal server error This error is generated when a script running on The server could not be implemented or permissions are incorrectly assigned for files or directories Troubleshooting suggestions: Temporarily disable any rewrite rules by renaming your .htaccess file if it exists. Ensure that any CGI or Perl scripts have at least .755. permissions. If trying to run PHP and you get this error, you may have an invalid php.ini in your /cgi-bin, or may be missing your php.dat file in this folder. I have no idea where to even begin troubleshooting this issue. This error message shows up in every browser and every page on my site. Can I fix this within Wordpress? I don't know where to find CGI or Perl scripts, let alone change Their permissions. | |||||
| What happens regarding WPForo server storage. cost? | 13 Relevance | 6 years ago | dallaz | General Discussions | |
| Since wpforo allows users to submit documents of various file sizes. it obviously has to be stored on a server somewhere which isn't free for Them i think. Would we be required to pay for The server? I wonder If Theres a cost somewhere | |||||
| How to Debug and check for Errors and Issues in your Forum on your Server | 13 Relevance | 7 years ago | CrisW | How-to and Troubleshooting | |
| I posted this in our Forum and thought to share it here, too. (So it shows up in Forum Search Results, in case someone doesn't know how to do it, feel free to copy and paste into your own Forum to help your Forum Members ). ---------------- How to Debug and check for Errors and Issues in your Forum on your server Go to: Forum Dashboard Tools Click The Debug tab On The Debug information Row, you will find your server information and any Errors and Issues. Click [ Errors & Issues ] There you will see "Issues and Recommendations" and Error Logs So you can know which or what exactly is causing The issues you're having. Once you've identified The exact issue that's causing The errors .. Go back to your Forum Dashboard Under Forum Maintenance Click Delete All Caches Press Control F5 twice on your frontend and test it again. Also it helps to test it on an incognito Window or in another browser, especially if you are also testing on a Mobile Device (since Mobile devices have hard caches). Hope this helps. Good luck and God bless you! Related: I find it important to share The info in The post below with fellow Forum Admins here, so that They can also publish The "How To Clear your Cache" in Their own Forums, so that ... How to Clear your Cache on your Computer ... so that The "Sorry something wrong with your data" error does not appear for our Forum Members (where posts can get lost, which can be very frustrating). It's a WordPress functionality that is explained in The post below: | |||||
