I'm having trouble activating the 2026 theme on forum version 3.0.2.
It remains inactive all the time.

This could be either database or WordPress cache issue.
Please activate the 2026 again, then delete all kind of caches if you have a cache plugin, then delete wpForo cache in wpForo > Overview admin page, click the [Delete All Caches] button.
Then check the hosting service control panel, if you find any cache option just delete the hosting side cache.
Also, please check the current active WordPress theme's folder in the file system, if you see /wpforo/ folder it means you have copied and customized the old 2022 theme files in your WordPress theme, it'll always overwrite the original theme coming from wpForo plugins. So you should consider update them with the new 2026 theme files.
