Actually that explains why bump is not welcome by anyone and any community that i know.

No Bumping

Do not bump posts. Bumping a post to "the top" does not help your topic get noticed. The volunteers who try to answer questions look for those without replies first. If you bump a post, then it disappears from the 'No Replies' view.

If you want help, do not bump.

Being that it looks like you NEED to be a 'one upper' with quips and snippets from whatever site that is from - I will once again say this feature may NOT be for everyone (And yes, we know now it doesn't sit well with you) - It can be useful for forums such as the one in the OP to people to refresh their ads without messy "bump" threads inside the topic.

That aside - I am sure we will all eat popcorn and await your next quick fact and bias thinking.

Personally, I do not like the bump thing. However, if it is implemented please make it as an option.

Thanks

My users are most older folks who are used to discussion boards from long ago. Back in those days, there usually was no way to display posts by "freshness" -- they just appeared in order based on the posting date of the original post. To this day, many of my users will sometimes start a brand new thread with the same subject line as an old thread with "TTT" (to the top) added at the end. I always find this humorous.
