wpforo "base page" should be excluded from caching urls.

Would that be here?  see attachment 2

cac-3.png

my site has the forum page loading as the front page with the wordpress content accessible from the very top black nav-bar and the wpforo nav-bar as the header nav-bar.

The "age" should a month (or otherwise depending of your needs). And the cleanup once daily, unless you have a huge site.

The url of wpForo for me is /community/ and i put /community/*

As for your site, i can't access it, it says to me "Sorry, your request cannot be accepted."

Hi Anonymous20,

thanks for that, I've now enabled it. I notice when checking a page when logged out, caching appears to be working.  👍 see below.

When logged out

!-- *´¨)
¸.•´¸.•*´¨) ¸.•*¨)
(¸.•´ (¸.•` ¤ Comet Cache is Fully Functional ¤ ´¨) -->

<!-- Cache File Version Salt: n/a -->

<!-- Cache File URL: https://www.radios-tv.co.uk/baird/ -->
<!-- Cache File Path: /cache/comet-cache/cache/https/www-radios-tv-co-uk/baird.html -->

<!-- Cache File Generated Via: HTTP request -->
<!-- Cache File Generated On: Apr 1st, 2018 @ 2:44 pm UTC -->
<!-- Cache File Generated In: 2.08839 seconds -->

<!-- Cache File Expires On: May 2nd, 2018 @ 2:44 pm UTC -->
<!-- Cache File Auto-Rebuild On: May 2nd, 2018 @ 2:44 pm UTC -->

<!-- Loaded via Cache On: Apr 1st, 2018 @ 2:48 pm UTC -->
<!-- Loaded via Cache In: 0.05279 seconds -->

But when checking the same page when logged in, its not, I suspect I'm doing something wrong or is that correct because its a membership site where people will be logging in and out?  see below

When logged in

Comet Cache is NOT caching this page, because the current user visiting this page (usually YOU), appears to be logged-in. The current configuration says NOT to cache pages for logged-in visitors. This message may also appear if you have an active PHP session on this site, or if you've left (or replied to) a comment recently. If this message continues, please clear your cookies and try again

By the way I did log out and I did clear browser cookies

Re: you not seeing the site, what country are you in? I've been playing with geo blocking as I've been getting lots of trouble from certain countries.

When you are logged in, no caching happens. You do not want caching.

If you are a visitor (not logged in) and still no caching is happens, it means that you have a cookie OR you have posted a comment or something and caching is not wanted. Don't worry, Comet Cache makes 10000% sure everything works right for you. It is the only caching trusted in Wordpress by most hosting companies, since it just works. Even compared with Auttomatic's own WP Super Cache (buggy).

As for me, right now i'm in Greece.

I see that wpforo is at your main home page and caching is enabled. I think this is wrong. You don't want that, since wpForo has already a caching mechanism.

To be honest its all been a tad confusing

I set up a wordpress page called ' Vrat 2.0 Forum ', within that added the [wpforo] call. That page was then set in WP config as the static homepage.

Here's the relevant wpForo configs

I also made sure all forum pages were excluded in comet cache

The comet cache tidy config

Everything appears to be working, members are posting in the forum as I type, the posts are appearing in the side bar and the corresponding sections in real-time, when I'm either logged in or out.

Finally as shown in my previous post, when viewing Wordpress content source, caching shows for non logged in users and not cached for logged in users.

So is that all OK or not?
