Hi, for some reason on extended forum layout, when someone likes a post as a user, he can see his own like icon and text regarding reaction, but if someone else likes the other user's post, he can't see it, just the reaction text, no icon (see attachment).

I saw some pictures and it looks like icons of the like should be present if I am not mistaken in some form for both users, the one receiving it and the one giving it as well. What I did try is disabling all the plugins but wpForo, without success. Am I missing something? Or should there really be no indication of the type of reaction through icon?

Hi,

Please note that users cannot like their own posts. Ensure that the post does not belong to the user who is the author of the post.

@sofy I didn’t mean like icon button as to give someone else (myself) the like, but as an indicator that the post was liked by someone. As you can see, it only says “reacted”, but without any icon or text indicating whether it’s like or dislike, user can’t know what reaction was used there, as I sent in my example above. You see the text, but not the reaction itself, so you have to guess or check your notifications to know, but everyone else looking at that post won’t see if the post was liked or disliked. I saw some pictures and in extended layout, like icon (not button) should be visible.

This is what I meant, or at least that would make sense for others to see the actual type of reaction from others on different replies etc.

@smexhy,

I'm sorry but the information about like/dislike will be only displayed for the post owner in the notification section. We'll show more information on the post screen in the near future. Currently there is no option.
