I was surprised to see that wpforo fires off 17 database queries on every page of my site, even though the forum is only embedded on 1 page.

Is there anything I can do to deactivate the plugin on these other posts and pages?

How can I find out if same is happening to me

@stevenminix You can install the Query Monitor plugin, which shows you on every page how many queries each plugin is making. It's useful for finding query-heavy plugins and also for finding duplicate queries. It shows a lot of other useful info, too.
