Are buddyPress and Ultimate Member plug-ins necessary when using wpFORO?

I have both plug-ins--buddyPress and wpForo--in my website. I am facing some confusion between buddyPress groups and wpForo user groups.  I just wanted to have a simple way to manage the user groups and control access rights to private forums.  What would be a better way?

They are not necessary. wpForo covers all features provided by those plugins.
