Hi,

I have a problem that will get resolved by Godaddy eventually but I wonder if there is an underline wpforo issue that might be fixable?

I have migrated from phpbb to wpforo with the migration tool successfully. Big kudos to the developers. Everything is there!!!

At the same time, my website is being moved from an old hosting to a new hosting all within Godaddy. Godaddy is having problems to get my domain out of the old hosting to put it into the new hosting. Once they fix that everything will work perfectly.

But, right now, we have a forwarding in place to keep going. So, when the users type mydomain.com it goes to new.mydomain.com until Godaddy can actually move the domain to the new hosting.

In this state I have wpforo working great except the attachments. Everything seems to work well with new.mydomain.com but when you try to download an attachment, it tries to download it from mydomain.com not from new.mydomain.com. By the way, the files are there, I have seen them in the server.

Again, this will get resolved but I was wondering why everything else works well with new.mydomain.com except the attachments. What is different in how the attachments are handled vs the rest of the system that doesn't like the forwarding.

Also, is there a temporary solution while I wait for Godaddy?

Thanks so much, it's great to now have a forum working within the wp page directly, so much easier to manage.

Regards

Fran

Hi,

I have the attachments working now but I had to do a little hack. Perhaps there's an easy way. In any case, it's all up and running.

This is what happened:

When Godaddy finally moved the domain from the old server to the new server the attachments had a directory structure like in the old server, not the new one, as I run the conversion tool in the old server. And there were few differences there (basically one extra subdirectory). So the hack was this: I recreated a similar directory structure that I had before, just for the attachments, copied them all to that place, and everything works like a charm.

Thank you!
