I've been using wpForo for 2 years and very oddly, yesterday afternoon, for no apparent reason, the email notifications to new posts and post subscriptions have stopped going out. Can some please advise me on where to check why this has stopped working. I've gone through the "email" section in settings and everything looks correct.

Any assistance would be massively appreciated.

Since email are handled by Wordpress core and not wpForo, you need some plugin for smtp with logs to see what happens.

Not a wpForo issue and nothing you can check in wpForo.

@dimalifragis I suspected as much, so thanks for confirming so quickly. I'll install SMTP on my installation today.

@marsm You can try

https://wordpress.org/plugins/gd-mail-queue/

and why-not keep on using it forever. I do for 4+ years now.

Queues also email and do not burden the mail server all at once.

I'll give it a bash. Thanks for the recommendation. I just need to figure out why Wordpress has stopped sending out all emails from wpForo and discuz.

Hi  @marsm
It seems you may have exceeded your hosting email sending limit. You can try to connect with your hosting provider and ensure that the email sending is functioning correctly now.

@blackraz, I’ve finally got it working. Several calls to the hosts.
