I was adding a subforum to a parent forum and it made it a parent (I guess because when I hit 'add' on the parent forum)? I went back to correct it and the hierarchy and after doing so it seems to have completely deleted the entire Parent/forum along with all of the subcategories???  Does wpForo completely delete a forum without any sort of recovery built in when it wasn't intentionally deleted? I feel like there should be an easy way to 'undo' something. (I've actually brought this up before).

I back up my site daily but I have done a TON of customizations to this forum today. At no point did I 'Delete' anything and can't seem to find where wpForo's trash bin is (if it even exists). I could go to yesterday's backup but that means about 10 hours of work being lost. Can you guide me on how to fix this? If I deleted something, that would be different... but I didn't.

Hi,

You should use the backup version of your forum.

If the forum has been deleted, the only way to restore it is by using a backup.

Try opening the database and checking if the forum, topics, or posts exist in the database tables. If these cannot be found in the database, the only option to restore them is by using the backup version.

Hi @sofy !

It took a bit to get a response (though it wouldn't have mattered) so I rebuilt the forums & sub forums as I did not want to affect all of the work I had done by going to my previous backup.

I don't know if this is associated, but after all of this happened, I can not get my posts to cross posts to the new forum. I just posted in the Gvectors support page since it has to do with your Blog Cross Posting addon, but I thought I'd share this with you since you seem to have all the answers at wpForo. 😉

So the Gvectors site is down again. I was about to try uninstalling the addon then reinstalling it... but the fact that the site is down (again) is a bit worrisome. Any recommendations?
