We are having a really strange issue on our site where WPforo is showing up in some of the search results of our site in various ways. Here's a couple of examples:
https://www.macobserver.com/?s=Blockchain+Developers
https://www.macobserver.com/?s=Exam
To make it even odder, not all searches do this, for example: https://www.macobserver.com/?s=Exam is fine.
It seems to only happen when the search result might include matches to things that are in forum posts. Has anyone encountered this or know why it might be happening?
Please let me know why wpForo is displayed in WordPress search result? The wpForo page should only contain [wpforo] shortcode, nothing else. And wpForo posts are not search-able for WordPress search system. Have you made any changes in WordPress search system? wpForo posts are stored in separate tables and are only searched by wpForo Search system. The WordPress search form has no chance to find wpForo content.
I think it caused by you. Please check the forum page content, edit the forum page and check the editor content, it should only contain [wpforo] shortcode. Have you added other content there?
Also please check other pages and make sure you don't have other pages with [wpforo] shortcode.
Yes, that is the only thing on that page. I've attached a screenshot. Please take a look at the links I provided. You'll notice this issue is on the search results page , NOT the forum pages.
Also please search in other pages and posts, make sure there is no other page/posts with wpforo shortcodes.
