I see that the LINK urls of Forums and Forums posts don't end with a backslash. I see a backslash everywhere else in Wordpress and plugins.
Could that be a problem or not ?

If your WP permalink setting contains trailing slash then wpForo links will also contain it. I checked it on my site.

Nope. Not sure what permalink structure you mean, but i use "/%category%/%postname%/". Still not sure what you mean and not sure those settings have anything todo with wpForo.
And wpForo's links don't end with "/" BUT the page they redirect has it. The LINKS do not.
If you don't have trailing slash in permalink settings it'll not redirect to a URL with trailing slash.
The issue is in links not in end redirected URL, it doesn't have trailing slash in href attribute. This issue has been already reported and it's on top of our to-do list. It'll fixed in near future releases.
