Hi,
we would like to give selected members from another website a code that they can use to sign up to a new forum. We want to avoid anyone without that code to be able to sign up for that forum. I know I could password protect the site (or page) but we don't want to bother members with this more than once, we just want to have it prompted one time before they can sign up, ideally as part of the sign up form. Can this be done?

The password protection feature doesn't belong to wpForo plugin. You should try to find some third-party plugin with such functionality.
