Yes, it's possible. You should put a small code in the functions.php file of your theme explained in this topic: https://wpforo.com/community/how-to-and-troubleshooting-2/uploading-and-embedding-images/#post-5212
For an advanced file attachments options you I'd also suggest wpForo Advanced Attachment addon.
