I just setup a new forum, am logged in as admin, still do not see any way to post a new thread or topic for discussion?
Do I need to change any settings etc please?

Please navigate to Dashboard > Forums > Tools > Debug > [Tables] section and check the database table issues. If you see any, please click on the [Solve database problems] button.
Then navigate to Dashboard > Forums > Tools > Debug > [ Errors & Issues ] section and let us know if you see some issues.
Finally, leave your forum URL to allow us to check it.
