Hi, one of my moderators noticed a problem recently after we updated to the most recent version of wpForo in early November.
Essentially, posts/discussions are showing up as unread even though they've already been read. For example, when the moderator has read all of the unread posts in a forum, she's still seeing the chat bubbles next to the forum link on the homepage showing up as active (indicating new posts). And when she navigates back to that particular forum page, discussion threads that she's just read are showing up as containing new unread posts. In one instance, one thread showed up as containing a new post even though the most recent post there was her own post.
Any clue what might be happening here? This moderator never experienced this problem before the most recent update. Thanks.
We are experiencing this too. Not all members, I personally don't have the problem, but some are complaining about it.
wpForo cannot keep information about all topics and posts you've read. This is a very large information, plus it should be saved for all users.
So, once you've read all new topics and found an old topic with incorrect read/unread status you should click the [mark all read] button located in the forum footer statistic section. This will cut the history of your read topics by removing the huge amount of old read topics logs. And there'll not be mismatches in read/unread status of old topics.
This is already on our to-do list, and it will be fixed in the near future updates(no ETA).
