I am using this addon for a non-profit. We want to allow our members to recommend books of interest to our community (via a topic). We would then like other members to rate the same book.
For example. Let us say Xander wanted to recommend "How to talk to people when you are shy" by Professor X.
They could add a new Topic to this subject. The comments would be a description of why Xander (a respected expert in this subject) likes this book.
Other members of our organization could then rate the same book or reply to the original post with additional information/opinions.
The Topic rating would show the aggregated ratings.
Is this something that can be done?

I've just asked our developers about it and currently, I'm waiting for the response from them. I'll update the topic once I get some response from them.
@alvina I use to be a programmer and then an International Team Leader at Sun Microsystem. I will be happy to leave a good review even if the answer is no.

Currently, it's very hard to implement. There is not a quick way to do this.
As an alternative I'd suggest wpForo Polls addon. So you can create poll with the new topic "How to talk to people when you are shy" by Professor X and add different answers why you like this book with some negative answers too. So, instead of opening a new topic to this subject they can directly choose their answer and poll to this topic. So it'll collect all opinions as poll answers and poll result will show your members detailed attitude to this book.
