Nope, I don't have anything adjusting that outside of the normal WordPress settings.

You have installed plugin called "WPFront User Role Editor" and the default Usergroup is set Editor. I don't know if you changed WP default user role with this plugin or you installed this plugin to check it . But it's obvious, you've changed the default WP user role and set it Editor:

Editor is the same Moderator. I don't see any reason why you've set this. This is the reason why new users are all Moderators. We just changed it to Subscriber in your WordPress. Please test it again, and keep the default User Role under control.
