I have 2 forums running on different domains with different email providers and experience same issue:
Users do not get email notifications when someone replies or quotes them in the messages, this only applies to 'REPLY' and 'QUOTE' options available under user's post.Â
When somebody uses @ mention or you are subscribed to the topic updates everything is coming through, am I missing something?

Hi @sofy , you seem to be one of the most experienced people amongst this forum, could you please give me an advice?
Have tested that youself, making a user ? Are you sure they are SUBSCRIBEDÂ to the topic ?
If both the above are true and it really happens, then you must check if any error is in the DEBUG.LOG (enable it first). If this is empty, then since all smtp (out email) is handled by Wordpress core and not wpForo, you must install a SMTP plugin with extended transcations logging. And check the logs to see what happens in those emails.

few users actually 😉 I am using AuthSMTP for outbound email and their log does not indicate that something is being sent when somebody quotes you or reply to your messages, there are only 2 cases when notification trigger:
1. User subscribed to post and receiving all updates on it, that works just perfectly
2. User has been mentioned by '@<username>' like I did now with your username
Besides that it sends notifications to admins about new topics, etc., that's also work
Everything seems to work except Quote and Reply option AND there are no such sections in email settings, thus makes me think it is a feature, not a glitch, but I wanted to be sure as I am a member of few hobby communities built on different software like IPB and it sends you a notification if whole or a part of your messages has been quoted by another person
