please uncheck/disable the "Turn WordPress to forum" option in Forums > Settings admin page. Then use this instruction to load forum on home page:

I have the same problem but I do not want the Forum page for the Home page. I have a different Home page.

I have installed this plugin today - and am already frustrated to the point of uninstalling it. No I am NOT a computer tech and No I am not a web designer and I have NO comprehension of code etc. All I am trying to do is learn how to install this plugin with X theme and my website to create a forum for my clients to discuss things.
I cannot even log in. The log in that was created for me takes me to a completely new 'website' and I want the forum to be seamlessly integrated into my website.
Please can someone help me.

I think the most issues you got are not related to forum. Please leave website URL and the login URL to allow us check it.
wpForo has no chance to direct your login page to other websites. This is not wpForo issue and you think all issues are related to wpForo. The whole wpForo is in /community/* page, that's it. Other pages, login/register forms don't related to forum. You just click on install button and the forum is ready, no extra step needed.
