I have had this problem for over a month and have spent hours scouring this and other resources for the answer. Even though others seem to have had the same problem, I'm unable to make their solutions work for me.

My forum is https://forum.taiwanme.com. When a 'Reset Password' link is sent to a new user, it is redirecting it to the base domains WP login (www.taiwanme.com). I've tried all combinations of changing the lost password direction link and de & reactivating the wpForo links.

Please help 😀

The form is pointing to the base domain.

Hi @travelforum,

Please let me know how you've installed wpForo? Is this multisite?

Hi Sofy, yes it is.

wpForo is installed on the one subdomain (forum.taiwanme.com).

The website has a main and 3 subdomains, including wpForo.

For some reason, the forum is missing the URL

We've checked the wpForo codes responsible for this. There shouldn't be such an issue. It seems some plugin effects on this redirection. To find the problem maker please deactivate other plugins and check again. If it works, activate the plugins one by one and check after each deactivation.

When I deactivate Advanced Custom Fields PRO it crashes the whole forum. Is this related?

@travelforum

No, the issue shouldn't have any relation to this plugin. Please don't deactivate it. Just continue the testing and deactivate others.

I've tried deactivating every plugin and am still having this problem.

I'm at a complete loss as to why the reset password button doesn't link properly.

Do you have any idea about this?

Thank you

Hi @travelforum,

Please navigate to Dashboard > Forums > Settings > Members admin page make sure the fields are not any custom URLs for Registration fields.

Those fields did have custom URL's.

I deleted them and retried the registration process and was able to do so. Except it is still redirecting to the backend Wordpress login.

That is, when trying to reset password initially it redirects to the Wordpress password reset. Once that is put through and logged in it redirects to forum.taiwanme/wp-login.

Hi @travelforum,

Please remove the Custom URLs, then navigate to Dashboard > Forums > Settings > Features admin page enable the following two options, delete all caches and check again:

  • Replace Login Page URL to Forum Login Page URL
  • Replace Reset Password Page URL to Forum Reset Password Page URL
