I have a recurrent problem; every time I resolve it, but it comes back.

I need to disable avatars in “Member Profile” because they ruin the layout.

But I don't know how, they reappear after a few days.

How can I disable them permanently?

Thank you.

Hi @pierre999 ,

For some reason Gravatar service has blocked your domain to load gravatars to your website. it could be either website SSL certificate issue, website IP issue or just cache issue. In any case this problem has zero relation to wpForo, the avatars are loaded from WordPress functions through gravatar.com. I recommend play with cache solutions you have or change Gravatars to First Letter avatars using this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/leira-letter-avatar/

The problem is solved when I go to settings, member profile, and set the “Enable avatars” option to no.

But the setting regularly reverts back to yes!

How can I make sure it stays on no forever?

@pierre999

There are no functions that might change the settings values. If you set it to “No,” the value will not be changed.

And yet, it often turns back on.

I use the Simple Local Avatars plugin, and before I found the Avatar option turned on again, there was an update to this plugin.

Does this plugin have the ability to turn the WPForo avatar setting back on?
