Ive created a site and everything was working fine but now when I go to registration it gives me a 404 error. All the custom URLs are empty. Is there something that has changed?

thanks

thanks! no rush either, this isnt a functioning thing but more for practice to learn a bit about the plugin.

I used to use buddypress with it then read that the integration wasnt really 100% so i changed over to just using wpforo and disabled buddypress's plugin. I was also getting 404 errors on profile pages and such so I was just disabling the widgets thinking it was buddypress integration causing the problem but I guess not.

I can send any images that might help as well.

Hi @tyler79,

Not sure if this helps, I disabled all the beaver builder plugins that came with the setup (I also ended up re enabling buddypress as a test) and I get this error on the register page now. Thanks. Im basically running default everything. Like I said it used to work fine even with buddypress activated. So odd.

The 404 is http://www.fuktos.com/register/ so the question is what is that page ?

The normal WP register page is /wp-login.php?action=register

register is the page created in buddypress. usually you just create pages named register, activate, etc and the buddypress fills them in with whats needed after you assign them. Ive tried both with buddy press activated and deactivated and nothing works. Meaning even trying to use wordpress's own activation setup pages doesnt work when turned on with wpforo.

Im actually starting to think it might be godaddy messing something up and I was thinking of transferring to bluehost. I might try to find a free wordpress site host and upload a copy to see if it works. Like I said it used to work perfectly fine but then one day just stopped and started giving me the 404 error. I liked the BP integration with WP foro initially until I thought that was messing it up, but I dont think it is now.

@tyler79,

When you click on the register link in the tooltip it opens the right registration page, please watch the video:

Please edit the main menu of your website and enter the correct registration page there.

interesting, I dont even see that tooltip menu on mine at the top.

just updated the link in the menu with a custom, easy fix = thanks. I wonder why the buddypress stopped working though. I like having the BP login widget in the upper right, just looks nice honestly and I was hoping to get rid of the menu at the top all together but I guess not. Unfortunatly the BP widget doesnt have a way to customize the links.

Thanks for the help on that!

So I have come to the realization that my forum does not like pages. I was setting up the pages for terms and privacy etc etc and it wont even go to those, just 404's right out. Thinking I might be starting this from scratch honestly, just nuke it and start from zero.

Hi @tyler79,

Please navigate to Dashboard > Forums > Tools > Privacy & Rules admin page, make sure the URLs of the pages you've filled in the "Website Terms and Privacy Policy Pages" fields are correct.

yeah they are (I mean I think they are) but for some reason when I try to page out the forum just 404's. It goes to the actual page

http://www.fuktos.com/terms/

but just shows a 404. I thought maybe the underlying WP theme might be causing and issue since Ive set the forum up to be the site/theme and tried changing it to something simpler but no dice.

@tyler79,

Have you enabled the "Turn WordPress to wpForo" option? The option is located in Dashboard > Forums > Settings > General admin page.

If yes, please put the current page URL in “Exclude Page URLs” textarea, delete all caches and check again.
