Hi,

I have been trying in vain to have another shortcode executed on the page with the forum shortcode BEFORE the [wpforo]. Either this is only partially executed or not at all, while the same shortcode runs in the sidebar without any problems. Does anyone have any advice?

Background: We display a few posts daily as "editors choice" with the "content view" plugin in the sidebar. So far, so good. But we have more than 70 percent of accesses via cell phone, on which the contents of the sidebar appear AFTER the forum contents. We would now like this to be more visible, it should also appear above the forum on the cell phone.

We have already tested other slider plugins, but unfortunately without success. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks, Bernd

Hi  @berndg

The wpForo shortcode is isolated and not related to any other content or shortcodes around it. So, the problem may be coming from another source. Could you please provide the website URL and details on where we can encounter this issue?

@blackraz Hi,

and thanks again for caring. When I was preparing a page for you to demonstrate the problem I dug very deep into the settings of the plugin we use for displaying the selected posts – and found, that they use some kind of a own cache system. I could deactivate it, and since it is showing the posts like it was supposed so.

A conflict with the WPForo cache system is a possibility, I guess, although I don't know why the same plugin is performing in the sidebar for years now.

I will do some tests the next days and would be happy, if I could come back to you if necessary.

Yours, Bernd

"editors choice" with the "content view"

This isn’t a support reply, but I was intrigued by what you’re doing. What is content view and how are you making editors choice posts. I’d love to do that and would be appreciative if you could share how you’re doing that.

@marsm Hi, content view is a plugin to produce post grids, slider, accordion (Gutenberg blocks and hhortcode). We are running the pro version, the free version you can find her at Wordpress

Our editors choice is done manually, our community is run anonymously, so we have to check new posts anyway for scam and spam, and will always find one to use. The community is secluded behind an membership plugin, but we use the resulting editors-choice-teaser to attract new members and as content to feed Googles bot.

Examples you can find here (choice by day) or here (random choice). The grid on this pages is done by content view, for example.

As I see that you seem to work with WP Bakery: Using content view was for us the time that we could deactivate WP Bakery, because aside of the grid we could do most things directly with CSS, it brought really a lot of speed, we do not use any page builder any longer since.

Yours, Bernd

Thanks Berndt. Very helpful.

Can you please drop in the link again to the plug-in as the one above isn’t working?

@marsm Hmm, I don't get ist – it is working after I deactivated the caching system that obviously comes with content view.

Btw: Here the correct link to the plugin at Wordpresse, somehow the link got messed up in my posting above: https://wordpress.org/plugins/content-views-query-and-display-post-page/
