Can I use wordpress shortcodes inside posts? If so, how?

You can if you enable it from wpForo settings dashboard.

It would be nice if only admins could use shortcodes but they would display for everyone.

Who else but the admins know what shortcode to insert ? I guess this is an admin only feature.
