hi there,

when my member upload profile pics, some of them appear sideways. There doesn’t appear to be any way to combat this.

Can anyone suggest any reason why?

Thanks

Mike

Hi mossthai,

I'm sorry, but I don't follow you. Could you please explain using some screenshots?

If you look through the member list, you will see several members with sideways profile pics. These members are uploading pics that are the right way up, for some reason they get oriented sideways after upload. Is there a reason for this, format of metadata perhaps?

It seems to be random, but there must be an underlying reason as most members are ok.

Regards

Mike

Looks like a problem I stumbled upon once or twice. I guess those are pics from a smartphone with a EFIX tag that defines the "proper" orientation of the picture. But if people are holding their smartphone sideways when they take the picture...

You have to open and save them again in a software that can change that. Photoshop of course, or any free software like Windows Live Photo Gallery.
