Hello,

We just finished the activation of our new wpForo Q&A forum.

https://wikifarmer.com/community

It looks really great and the feedback is very good. We plan to buy also 2 of the add ons.

However, we are now very disappointed to read that the plugin has issues with multilingual sites.

We are not multilingual yet, but every website and community at some point can grow through establishing a second or or a third language. If this can't work, this is a very serious disadvantage of the plugin and should be clearly stated in the plugin description.

So, we plan to launch a /es/ and a /ar/ directory through WPML in about two months time. (a spanish and possibly arabic translation of the website).

We do not intend to have a different forum for every language, we just want to have the english version of the wpForo, but our site will also have spanish and arabic translation (in all the pages but not those of the forum).

Will we encounter a problem?

If yes, we will have to change to another forum plugin as soon as possible.

Thank you for your prompt reply.

This issue is under active consideration. It should work well with 1.3.1 version when the Object Cache is disabled in Forums > Settings > Features admin page. This cache type is very important so we do our best to make the Multi Language URLS compatible with Object Cache too. It'll be probably updated by middle of next month.

Is there an update on this? I'm trying to implement a multilingual site and want to use wpForo as a single forum but able to be in a user defined languages. Admittedly, the user written content will be in many different languages but something like Google Translate can handle that on the fly. It's the rest of the forum I want to be able to pre-translate and have it display in the language the user selects.

Perhaps you guys could link up with WP Multilang to make this work. They have a great system for doing it for the rest of wordpress pages, posts, menus, etc.

This problem has been fixed many versions ago. You just need to delete wpForo cache in Dashboard > Forums > Dashboard admin page once you start using Multi Language plugin.
