Per the instructions in your documentation, I copied over the contents of the /wp-content/plugins/wpforo/wpf-themes/classic into my /wp-content/themes/mytheme/wpforo/. I made changes to both header.php and footer.php. When I load the forum my changes are not displayed and I only see the default.
The customized templates are in a child theme. Does wpforo not work with child themes?

If you use some cache plugins, please delete all caches including browser cache, before checking.
Also please try to add the customized templates in your parent theme and check again.
I have cleared the cache and tried the parent theme folder but I am not seeing any template changes. Is there anything else that could prevent this?
