I'm struggling to understand the registration process, having read the WPForo docs and related posts here. However I have my system configured, when an anonymous use clicks the Add topic button, a Register/Login pop-up appears in the upper right corner of their screen. If they are really fast, really fast, they can click on Register before the pop-up disappears. What I would really like to have is a Register button and a Login button that sits on top of the forum header. Is this feasible?

Yes, as in https://wpforo.com/docs/root/wpforo-settings/features/ I have a top bar as you have shown. But my top bar only has a Notification icon and a Search icon/search field.
I am not seeing the Register or Login buttons. This is just what I am looking for!
