Hi Robert,

thank you for your quick reply!

The membership plugin doesn't change the WP user role. I can make "membership-products" by telling the plugin which pages and posts the standard user "Subscriber" can access. So, I could let them be users of the forum simply by allowing access to the forum pages and posts.

It would totally be alright, if all WP users who are "Subscribers" could automatically join the forum. I don't need any different user levels. All members can use the forum.

Can I do this with wpforo?

Kind regards,

Maria

Yes, sure. It's already configured like that. You should edit all forums and set "No Access" to Guest usergroup.

Then navigate to Dashboard > Forums > Dashboard admin page and click on [Delete all caches] button.

Thus, only registered users (all registered users get Subscriber user role and Registered usergroup) will be able to access to your forums. And all users of the Registered Usergroup have Subscriber user Role.

Hi Robert,

thank you very much! So I will give wpforo a try.

Probably you will see me here again, while testing the plugin... 😉

Kind regards,

Maria

Hi Maria,

I'm at the same point you have been - did it work out with wpforo and digimember? Saw digimember in your post first time and it looks trustworthy ...

Thanks for a reply, Bernd

Hi @BerndG !

I am sorry, the plugins wpforo and DigiMember in combination with DigiStore24 do not work together properly.

Usually the new members who bought my membership via DigiStore24 are added to my WP-System as "Subscribers" with a respective member account and login-data automatically. But as soon as wpforo is activated, after the sale the new members are not added to the WP-System anymore at all.

So I had to build my forum with wpforo on a different WP-platform than my membership. All members have to register separately for the forum and I have to control the registration process manually.

I don't know where the problem is: Is it the connection between DigiStore24 (reseller) and wpforo or the connection between DigiMember and wpforo? No support team could help me to find the answer.

So, if there is someone who can help - any help still is very welcome 😉

Best regards,

Maria

Hi,

and thanks for the information. At this point we are trying several membership-plugins, at least one seems to store the users a second time in another database. Luckily, we are not live yet. As far as I like wpforo much more than other solutions, it seems to be a hard fight.

Danke und viele Grüße, Bernd
