some one uploaded a video onto my forum but i carnt see it, its just displaying the play bar witch i can play and listen him talk but carnt see the video, an other memmber getting a error and some members are seeing the video fine any help please ???

not all browsers support .mov files
use .mp4 instead of .mov

@tutrix i have looked on the attachment section and some .mov have loaded up fine and working then some havnt so to me that carnt be a .mov/browser problem ?

if there a way to not allow people to upload .mov files ? and make them upload them as mp4 ?

if .mov is the problem and not the mov video itself
remove "mov" from Accepted File Types

@tutrix just like i said in my other reply some other people have loaded up from there iphone and the films have been fine so i dont get why this one has been a problem im very confused

the broken .mov video is in HEVC
only audio ist mp4a

the other .mov videos are mpeg4 (mp4)

see codec on the imgages

Hi @lvlasked,

As it mentioned in the addon description page, it uses HTML5 Video Player. The HTML 5 video player only supports these formats: https://www.w3schools.com/html/html5_video.asp

MP4 video/mp4
WebM video/webm
Ogg video/ogg

 

So, the .mov is not supported, you can upload it but you can't show it in video player.

@robert well someone bneen uploading from there iphone and they come up as.mov in the attchement part and they show on the forum to everyone thats why i wondered why that only one members dosnt

I'm sorry but as you can see in the doc, there is no chance to play MOV file in the HTML5 player. I think that "someone" have not uploaded a MOV or the MOV file extension was just set to non MOV file or something else. It doesn't matter, because there is no solution for this. The HTML5 Player developers have not added new formats yet. It only supports MP4, WebM, Ogg formats.
