I have read several topics, for example

all of these topics typically say if you want to do xyz, enable or disable 'can pass moderation' but I could not find anywhere where it is actualy explained what 'can pass moderation' is supposed to do.

Can somebody please tell me in a simple sentence what enabling or disabling this feature actualy does?

Thanks

Hi @fawp,

If it's disabled, all users posts should be approved manually.

@chris so if you want all posts for certain usergroups to be approved manually (i.e. they go into moderation) you untick 'can pass moderation'?

And the difference between 'Posts must be manually approved' in New Registered User (Spam control) and 'can pass moderation' , is that New Registered User is limited to the number of posts you set in there, while 'can pass moderation' applies to an entire class of users?

@fawp,

yes, so you get control by New registered users and by usergroups.
