Hello.

Is there a way to load widgets via Ajax and not php? Or using a Shortcode?

Because the Home page widgets of wpForo do not update when a caching plugin is used.

Using a shortcode for a widget, there is a plugin that loads a shortcode via ajax and works well.

Thanks

Hi @dimalifragis,

I'm sorry but not. It's better to ask your cache plugin support how to disable it for certain widgets. They may have some solution.

Ok, but keep in mind that is not cache plugin specific. It happens with all cache plugin i tested.

There is one option with LiteCache using ESI blocks.

Anyways, thanks. A shortcode would solve all that.

@dimalifragis,

It should not be a cache plugin specific. Because all cache plugins cache the whole page. But the problem is general not wpForo specific. All cache plugins should have an option to stop widget caching. There are tons of plugins which have dynamic widgets, and they are not AJAX powered.

Yes, a lot of plugins suffer from this, some of them provide a SHORTCODE and that solves the problem (with a workaround).

Fastest Cache provides support for not caching widgets BUT in their PAID version.

LiteCache has ESI blocks if you are on a LiteSpeed webserver.
