Hi there,

Within the WP Forum settings I noticed the following line of text in Red: wpForo PageID doesn't exist. Forums will not be loaded, please read this.

I followed the support link and created an SQL Query with page ID included. I have got an error message which is:

'Duplicate entry 'wpforo_pageid'

I would be pleased if you could suggest my next step - thanks.

Regards Mark

Hi MSHolden,

Please don't worry about this. This is an old information. This will be removed in future releases. Current and new versions of wpForo works based on slug not on page ID. Just make sure you have a Forum Page in Dashboard > Pages admin page. And make sure this page contains [wpforo] shortcode. Also the slug/alias of this page should match forum base URL in Dashboard > Forums > Settings admin page.

Hi Robert, Hope you are well.

Thank you for the information, good to hear it is going to be based on 'slug' in future updates - excellent.

Unfortunately I still have a problem (probably of my own making!):

I have got my 'Forum' back on to my website now, after it disappeared. But what I am finding is that if you click on any of the 'links' within the Forum, you get redirected to one of my other website pages and not a continuation of the link within the forum (see attached file screenshot)? I'm sure that it is something I have not done correctly, so would be pleased if you could advise.

Taking on board what you have said above regarding the 'Slug' name should match the base 'URL' this may be where my problem lies!

My base URL within WPForo is: https://myapcs.com/forum

My Wordpress Page is entitled 'Forum'.

The Permalink should match this too, but it is  https://myapcs.com/community-2

The Slug is also 'community-2'.

But if I change the slug to 'forum' and edit the permalink to 'forum' (which they should ideally be) then I loose the Forum from my website?

As you can see a bit confusing? If you need to be linked to my WP Dashboard, happy to provide link within a Private Post (just let me know how).

Any help would be gratefully received - thanks Robert.

Kind Regards Mark

ps: WPForo is a great plugin so looking forward to using it live!

I found this and have to say; that is my problem after re-installing wpforo.

If I match the site permalink where the short-code is with the base URL as I am supposed to (as far as I understand) then the forum disappears on the front-end.
If I enter any other base URL for wpforo (the page with the forum is still the same!) it can even be a made up one, that doesn't even exist, then I can see the forum on my created page - under the right permalink.
But when I want to open one of the (sub-)forums I get redirecet to wrong pages.
WIth the wrong base URL that makes sense to me, but WHY does the forum disappear from the frontend when th page permalink and the base URL in wpforo are the same?
I am really lost here 🙁
