I noticed (in this forum) that when you create a new topic, the "Subscribe to this topic" box isn't automatically checked.
If you click it, you'll receive an email to confirm your subscription.
This is too complicated for users.
When a user creates a new topic, they should be automatically subscribed.

Hi @ricsca,

If you want so then set "Yes" the Topic subscription option on post editor - checked/enabled option in wpForo > Settings > Subscriptions & Mentioning admin page.

@ricsca,

Here we have auto-embedding of users @nicknames when people click reply button. The @nickname always sends email to the author so it's not necessary to explicitly subscribe when you create a topic. There are many cases when user don't want to get email notification on each reply. In the other hand if somebody wants to make sure the topic author is notified he/she can use the @nickname of the author.

In short we don't want to send lots of emails to wpForo members, that's why this option is disabled. If it's necessary we always use nickname mentioning solution.

@robert sorry, I don't understand the difference between subscribing and automatically adding nicknames.
Do both receive emails?
