Unlike plugins that just pass your API key to ChatGPT, wpForo AI runs its own backend services (gVectors AI) including semantic search with vector embeddings, content moderation pipeline, real-time translation, topic summarization, smart suggestions, and an AI chat assistant, all optimized specifically for forum content.
This architecture allows us to deliver features that are impossible with a simple API key approach, such as searching your entire forum by meaning rather than keywords, or automatically suggesting related topics while users type. We use the best-suited AI models for each task behind the scenes, so you get superior results without needing to manage API keys, token limits, or model configurations yourself.
gVectors AI doesn't rely on a single AI model. The infrastructure orchestrates multiple specialized models: embedding models for content indexing, fast models for moderation and classification, advanced models for search summaries and chat, and vision models for image understanding. Each feature uses the optimal model, balancing speed, quality, and cost automatically. You can also select the AI model quality for each AI feature you use if you want to customize it. There are four model qualities and in each quality there are multiple AI models that will be selected by backend based on the task complexity.
