wpForo AI is not a simple API connector (like all other simple plugins do), it's a full-scale AI infrastructure built on AWS with dedicated vector databases, semantic indexing, multi-tenant isolation, and intelligent credit management for each forum.
Unlike plugins that just pass your API key to ChatGPT, wpForo AI runs its own backend services (gVectors AI) including semantic search with vector embeddings, content moderation pipeline, real-time translation, topic summarization, smart suggestions, and an AI chat assistant, all optimized specifically for forum content.
This architecture allows us to deliver features that are impossible with a simple API key approach, such as searching your entire forum by meaning rather than keywords, or automatically suggesting related topics while users type. We use the best-suited AI models for each task behind the scenes, so you get superior results without needing to manage API keys, token limits, or model configurations yourself.
gVectors AI doesn't rely on a single AI model. The infrastructure orchestrates multiple specialized models: embedding models for content indexing, fast models for moderation and classification, advanced models for search summaries and chat, and vision models for image understanding. Each feature uses the optimal model, balancing speed, quality, and cost automatically. You can also select the AI model quality for each AI feature you use if you want to customize it. There are four model qualities and in each quality there are multiple AI models that will be selected by backend based on the task complexity.

Good work wpForo team. We updated yesterday and switched over to the Boxed Layout, no issues so far that we could find, aside from a small issue with our custom CSS, which was easy to fix.
I've upgraded my very popular forum at RPLS.com to wpForo 3 and I'm loving it. I've even signed up for the Business AI plan, and it's been a game-changer so far. I love that I can setup my own user and have him create topics and replies. The auto-moderation stuff is pretty great also.
One thing I'd like to be able to do is change the "AI Assistant" label on the button (below the search icon) to something more personal. For example, my AI assistant's name is "Theo Delight" (a play on theodolite, since my community is all about surveying), so it would be nice if I could change that button text to "Ask Theo". 🙂

You can change the SVG icon in the AI Assistant settings, but the title is a simple wpForo Phrase so you should add/change it in wpForo Phrases: https://wpforo.com/community/postid/138372/

The "Automatically index all new approved topics" option allows new content to be collected, put in the queue for 12 hours and indexed in a batch with X topics/batch requests.
