Hi Robert,
It is strange - I've pasted the email he received below. And he is an admin nor is his email address configured as an admin email address. I didn't even receive this email.

Of course, while I was posting it offered me the "avatar by URL" tag, so I dug and found
Adding this to Dashboard > Forums > Settings > Styles > Custom CSS Code solved this by hiding the option from view for users. Thanks!

We're realizing that we're getting mixed content warnings from Google because some users have put HTTP URLs in the "Specify Avatar by URL" field.
Is there a way to force them to only use HTTPS here?
Or, perhaps even better: is there a way to ONLY allow uploads and not allow avatars by URL? |

ok, in Hosting Service cPanel > phpMyAdmin Database manager please open the wp_wpforo_forums table and make sure it is not empty. |

wpForo doesn't have any hard coded URLs. If you just changed your website protocol you should navigate to Dashboard > Forums > Dashboard admin page and click on [Delete all caches] button. Then delete other plugin caches, press Ctrl+f5 on forum front and test it again. |

Menu link in the forum work fine, but links to boards and messages all have "http://" hard coded, should be changed to just "//" to adopt sites protocol or use WP's root url value. |

We just released wpForo 1.5.0, then in a day 1.5.1 UM integration version.
Note: After the update please delete all caches and do Ctrl+F5 on forum front.
Main Changes
1. Multiple Usergroups (Secondary Usergroups)
Using Secondary Usergroups you can set more than one Usergroups to any user in My Profile > Account and in Dashboard > Users > Edit User page:
Secondary Usergroups are simple Usergroups listed in Dashboard > Forums > Usergroups admin page. You should edit certain Usergroup and enable the "Can be also used as Secondary Usergroup" option to use it as Secondary Usergroup:
2. User Role-Usergroup Synchronization
Started from wpForo 1.5.0 version forum usergroups are synchronized with WordPress user Roles. The synchronization direction is from User Role to Usergroup. It means if some user Role is changed by some plugin or by website admin the Usergroup of this user will be changed automatically based on Role-Usergroup relation setting in Forums > Usergroups admin page. This helps to make wpForo compatible with paid membership and other User Role based access regulator plugins.
Note: The [Synchronize] button changes all users Usergroups according to the users Roles. For example, if you select "Contributor" Role for "Registered" Usergroup, all users with "Contributor" Role will get "Registered" Usergroup in forum.
You can see User Role - Usergroup relationship and synchronization status in User Role table below the Usergroup list on the same Forums > Usergroups admin page:
If you want to disable Role-Usergroup synchronization and manage Usergroups and User Roles independently, please navigate to Forums > Settings > Features admin page and disable "Role-Usergroup Synchronization" option.
3. New permission "Can answer own question" in forum access set
This permission brings more Q&A friendly discussion. If this permission is disabled, all new replies of Question Authors in Q&A topics will be added as comments. Answer button will only be available for other users.
4. Admin note/message on Forum frontend
5. Forum Dashboard and Forum Home links in top admin bar
6. Edit post logging with date and author name
7. Ultimate Member plugin integration
This integration Includes Forums tab with Topics, Replies, Liked Posts and Subscriptions sub-tabs on UM Profile page. Also wpForo is integrated with UM Real-time Notification system. Users get notifications when someone posted in their topics or replied to topic posts.

How to display a specific Avada menu on top of a specific wpForo Board

Hello, I have wpForo in English and I have created another wpForo board to have another wpForo in Italian on the same website. My Wordpress theme is Avada. On Avada I can create different Layouts, so that I can have a different Avada top menu on different pages or categories. This way I can select on Avada, for example, a different top menu that has to show on top of the wpForo page.
The menu I am talking about is not the one you can configure from wpForo. I am referring to the top menu shared by all webpages in my website, that is managed either by Wordpress or by the Avada theme.
My problem is that I cannot have a different Avada menu on top of the Italian wpForo board, because this board doesn’t have on Wordpress a specific page or category. I have one Wordpress page only referring to wpForo and it contains the English board. I expected that a new Wordpress page was created after I created the Italian board of wpForo, but it wasn’t. Despite having two wpForo boards, the English one and the Italian one, I have only one page of wpForo in my list of pages in Wordpress.
This way I cannot make a specific Avada top menu for the Italian wpForo board because, once I create it, I don't have a specific page for the wpForo Italian board, so I haven’t anything to connect my new Avada top menu to.
Do you know any solution? |
