As you said, for the past two years people have been asking for live notification and complained about the missing roadmap - any serious company has one. For two years, they respond with the copy / paste "it's on our to-do list, next version etc." and do not care at all about the concept of a roadmap. Draw your own conclusions.

I understand but Roberts message was over 2 years ago, i thought 2 years might of got you closer to "near future"
We do all our best to improve wpForo as much as possible. However, adding this feature may spend server resources, so it'll be not useful for other users of the wpForo.
Started from the wpForo 1.6.2 version, we've added the feature that prevents closing window or tab if topic/post editor is not empty. So there is a little chance to lose the content user added in the post editor.

Shame it's not on your roadmap, would be helpful.
Well, wpForo is a free plugin, everybody is welcome to test and evaluate it. I did so, two years ago. Nobody forces anyone to use it.
Second, wpForo is lacking features compared to what ? wpForo is STILL a Wordpress plugin and not a standalone forum script.
Finally most PHP forums are 10 or 15 years old and wpForo is still young.
My view is that people spend their time with technical matters (SEO for example) and not how to promote their forums. I say that because i do know some prehistoric forums scripts that are used with huge success still today.
Hi Sofy.
Thanks for the response and advice, however I'm probably being stupid but I cannot see how I would use the go2wpforo tool to merge my two wpForo sites into one. The tool only has options for migrating from other platforms to wpForo ( see below) not wpforo to wpforo.

Just to confirm what I'm trying to achieve.
I have two wordpress installations with two Wpforo forums, I need to merge them into one forum. Both exist on the same pro hosted server.
I would like the newly migrated site (site 1) merged into the one I started two years ago (site 2). Data below.
Details
Site 1 : This is the site was migrated yesterday from PHPbb3 to WpForowww.vrat.co.ukRunning on wordpress 4.9.8running Wpforo 1.5.3This site has 67.7K posts, 4,312 topics
Site 2 : This is the Wpforo site I've been running for the last two years. I want the site above merged into this one.www.Radios-TV.co.ukRunning on wordpress 4.9.8running Wpforo 1.5.3running wpforo plugins: advanced attachments, Ads manager, custom fields, cross posting, embeds and pollsThis site has 18.5K posts. 1.408 topics
Or are you saying I need to run the migration again? That I should install the go2wpforo tool on site 2 (www.radio-tv.co.uk) and migrate the phpbb3 forum directly into it. That it will not cause any problems with existing content.
Sorry If I'm not understanding, if you can help to explain a little further it would really help.
Hi Team
We have had Simple:Press installed for over 7 years and it's time to freshen it up! So we migrated to WPForo, which looks stunning.
However there a few problems:
1. My main forum moderator/admin is an expert in her field and has made over 6,000 post replies to topic questions. But these posts seem to have been assigned to other people. I am an admin too, and I seem to have inherited over 3,000 posts, which I did not make. I need her to look like the authority she is, and have all her posts assigned to her, especially all the replies she made (she has replied to 99% of the topics created.)
2. My second expert moderator cannot even be found when I search Members. He has made over 3,300 posts, but none are credited to him.
3. My highest posting member is nowhere to be found.
3. There are no views on any of the 12,000+ topics. Why are there no views?
4. The last reply my expert moderator made was just a few days ago, but I can't find any posts from her that are newer than "2 years ago".
So I followed this advice of yours:
Please try to delete User cache, navigate to Dashboard > Forums > Dashboard admin page, click on [Update Users Statistic] button then [Delete Users Cache] button
But it didn't change anything.
We have no caching plugins.
Please advise.
Thanks, Graeme
For almost four years I was using SimplePress years until it was completely unstable. A year ago I turn off it, and installed phpBB with a premium bridge, but still have not activated because it has some big problems with user management, integration with my WordPress theme, etc.
And then, the miracle happened and you have launched this fantastic plugin forums 🙂 I want to get to migration, but I have a couple of questions.
Will it work well with tens of thousands of imported from SimplePress messages? I've seen that sometimes goes a little slower these support forums, especially I want to offer my users speed.
I have seen that a user had a problem update, we recommended erase everything and reinstall. Do you think I should wait for a more stable serves or advanced version?
I use W3 Total Cache, any special configuration must be performed?
Crossposting be activated in the future as addon? I'm very interested.
Thanks!!!
Hi @percysgrowroom,
Thank you for taking the time to share the feedback. Such feedbacks, especially from someone who has been with wpForo for seven years, means a great deal to the entire team. We're glad the 3.0 update has had a positive impact on you and your community, and we'll make sure your kind words reach the people who worked hard to make it happen.
I don't want to be misunderstood because I consider wpForo the best forum for WordPress. However, having managed three fairly large forums for over 20 years (two with xenforo and one with bbpress) and having discussed forum admins for practically as long as I can remember, objectively, if an admin has to spend more than €100 on a mod, they would opt for xenforo (before Invision 5, which is now incredibly expensive, they could also opt for Invision 4), which is an independent forum that doesn't have all the limitations of a (very good) plugin for WordPress.
I don't know how many mods you sell each year (and especially how many are renewed, since renewals tell you whether the forums have worked or died), but I think a pro mod with everything included at a reasonable price would generate much more revenue, because most of those who use wpForo would purchase it.
Today, most users view websites on mobile devices, so they need to be as simple as possible.Forum sections also need to be as simple as possible.Users are accustomed to using Facebook groups, so they should be able to ask a question or find what they're looking for in just two seconds.A forum today should have very few sections/categories, so you can try to organize them with prefixes and tags. The site is really well-designed, but I had a hard time understanding what it was about, and I'm visiting it from a PC.
This WpForo forum also seems very chaotic and difficult to understand for those who aren't familiar with it, due to the different sections and the posts under each category being displayed differently for each section. Even the images in the sections take up a lot of space. Perhaps they could be left in the PC version, but they should disappear from the mobile version.
If 99% of people have moved to Facebook groups, we need to understand the reasons and report them to the forums. Forums are not the same as Facebook and they shouldn't be, but they shouldn't remain stuck in the same place as 20 years ago either.
Many thanks for the reply Sofy, and for the link to the support topic!
I, unfortunately, don't appear to have the same structure as advised in that support topic: (Dashboard > Forums > Tools > Antispam Tab and check "New Registered User" Field).
Potentially, the stucture and UI has changed in the 4 years since that post(?)
Many thanks again. 🙂
All fair points but I'm just saying, if you care to listen to my personal feedback, I was underwhelmed with the design. I fail to see why there can't be a proper dark theme with isolated classes and what not that you can just activate and all buttons and everything will look good and without users having to code and style broken elements themselves. Idk, for me it just hasn't worked.
It also didn't fix other things, like how you write posts and how this is handeled and presented on the frontend - you get weird line breaks and stuff. Forum can be a bit slow when posting, etc. I didn't quite see any real improvement.
Compared to more traditional forums like phpbb and invision board, I prefer those tbh, but atm I am still stuck with wpforo.
I don't mean to sound rude or disrespectful, these are just my opinions and experiences after using this software for many years. I appreciate the work you guys are doing and all, but with AI coding improving, if you don't stay on top of your game, soon enough people will design their own forum software. I am already considering it myself.
Long story short, I didn't see enough visual and mechanical improvement for me to get excited over this version, but that could also just be me. The AI stuff I don't really care so much for tbh.
