I would like to turn an existing forum into a public archive of topics. I know how to make user profiles read-only, but would like to set it so that no registrations are possible, and no ability to create profiles, so that the forum is not overrun with fake accounts.

Hi @davidborrink,

1. you need to set the forum and category to read only access for Guests from Dashboard > Forums > Forums > Forum Permissions Field.

2. Go to Dashboard > Forums > Settings > Features Tab and Disable "Enable User Registration" option.
Please note that this option is not synced with WordPress "Anyone can register" option in Dashboard > Settings > General admin page, If this option is enabled new users will always be able to register.
