I have seen in multiple forums when someone starts typing in a subject for a topic, that a list is provided of existing topics that match the subject of what the user is typing in. This is to prevent multiple posts of the same topic. Does WPForo offer any Addons or setting adjustments to enable this feature?  If not, does WPForo have a roadmap to support that?

Thank you

Hi @galos,

that feature is in our to-do list for the 2.0 version

I'm not going to hold anyone to any timelines, just trying to plan, but is there a ballpark estimate on when 2.0 will be available? Are we talking 1H of 2022, 2H 2022, 2023?

Thanks!

Curious to know if there's a publicly posted feature update list that is coming in 2.0? We are looking to deploy this internally for our teams now that budget has been approved to support this environment, but wondering what to expect in 2.0. Also will 2.0 be a simple upgrade or fork-lift upgrade?

Thanks!

@galos,

No ETA yet, as it has been mentioned a few days ago the 80% work is already done.
This is a major update with lots of root changes, so this is a forklift update. Lots of things are fully changed, and new technologies are used to build the core. Event the database architecture is changed.

@Chris, we are building out a test environment for what will soon be our production system, but knowing that version 2.0 will basically be a forklift upgrade, will there at least be a migration path from the old system to a new one? (especially since the database architecture is changing also) I want to ensure we have the ability to create a brand new platform with 2.0 and migrate all data and users to it. Thanks!

@galos,

The update should be easy; all db changes will be done automatically once you clicked the update button.
The only issue will be with the customized wpForo template files. If you have not customized wpForo template files, then you have nothing to worry about
