Hello there,

I have started to create a forum for a little society.

After some search I haven't found a configuration for add a preview button (for have a visual of the futur post) and a picture button (for directly add a picture to the post).

Those two feature are pretty commun to all forum that I use, I'm sure I have miss something. Did I must install a plug-in or extension, can someone help me ?

Thanks

Hi @gottraux,

I'm really sorry, but wpForo doesn't have a preview button We'll take it into consideration for future releases.

Attach file button is only available for Usergroups who have “Can attach file” permissions in granted forum access (by default all except guests). So please make sure the permission is enabled.

More info here:

https://wpforo.com/docs/root/topics-posts/atatch-file-to-post/

Also, wpForo has a built-in spam control system. It controls newly registered users and allows to attach a file when a user has X number of approved posts. Please manage this setting in Dashboard > Forums > Tools > Antispam > New Registered user section.

Hello @Sofy,

thank you for your quick and clear answer.

So preview button dosen't exit, it's too bad for a pretty commun feature. Before posting this topic I do some search here and found some similar post asking that, 2 years ago...Even some payable extension or plug-in haven't that?

I saw the 2 step way to insert a picture, first attach a file and second insert the attached file into an URL. I was searching a button who can do that in one step, so directly upload a picture, also pretty commun feature everywhere.

Between that, I got a weird reaction when I insert .png file, they turn upside down everytime. It happend only with .png file though.

Well again thank you for your answer Sofy.

You don't need to attach file then edit and use the image URL. You just need to use a small code described in following topic and all attached images will be displayed as an image: https://wpforo.com/community/how-to-and-troubleshooting-2/uploading-and-embedding-images/#post-5212

For an advanced attachments features I recommend wpForo advanced Attachments addon: https://gvectors.com/product/wpforo-advanced-attachments/
