Hello.

I do know and understand that wpForo has 4 internal options for caching. The HTML cache (as i have been told here) only caches some main pages of forums categories and a few other pages.

What i would like to know is why it doesn't make an HTML cached page for each TOPIC. As other caching plugins do for Wordpress Blog posts for example.

Forum topics tend to be inactive after a few weeks (i mean they are not updated, are closed or locked), so html caching would be a great benefit since they do not change or change rarely.

Also why wpForo doesn't support some popular caching plugins that already provide that and also provide some functions or api for all that (like Litespeed cache or Automatic's Wp Super Cache).

Thanks

@anonymous20 as you know, I'm using wp-rocket which does exactly what you've mentioned above. Sadly, it's a paid for plugin but worth every penny. I have a configured task that walks the wpForo site map and preloads the cache.

Yes i already know that about your 100% success with WP Rocket.

Still i can't spend 100$ for my 2 personal sites for it (because i barely cover my hosting fees from their ads). For my consulting to customers, it is a different story, still i prefer to suggest free or fremium plugins.

Using wp-rocket with wpForo: have you disabled the 4 options of wpForo or they are enabled also ?

The only one that remains disabled is the HTML cache. All others are enabled, and no URL exceptions for wpForo in WP-Rocket either. Have you seen this ?

I've had a good read @anonymous20 and it looks 100% genuine from all the reviews I've read. They are essentially leveraging the GPL and delaying updates by 24-48 hours to work around the licensing.

HTML cache conflicts with all dynamic things on wpForo:

  • Add topic rich editor cannot be initiated dynamically
  • Read / Unread status of topics and posts
  • Approved / Unapproved status of topics
  • Statistic information of Forums and Topics
  • Users online status and Online Users information
  • Many other issues...

So all cache plugins who have HTML cache affects these features too.
