Hi, the forum page its a secondary page within my website... I got nothing yet to add on my website frontpage...

I wonder if things as Recent Posts, Recent Topics and Tags are a good idea to have on my very front page or if by the contrary could be a bad idea perhaps for content duplicity on some cases

*Also, as I think I understand, the Tags, are neither good neither bad, they just dont rank, correct?

Thanks 🙂

@jesus,

To tell the truth I'm not an SEO expert. But I don't think that those may some effect on SEO. In my opinion, this does nothing with SEO. It just helps the website users to easily find forum topics/posts.

🙂 thanks for replying anyway. Im not even a SEO aspirant but you need to be learning some all the time

Yep, that was a "stupid question" for me to ask here in the first place I have to admit 🤣

Aside, I think it must do good, or at least not badd somehow with regards to SEO hence my "carry on and worried with my "slugs problem"...

*I have a very strong competitor which shows up 1st place in the search engines, and once he shows up in the searches, which is always LOL, its not just displying this main url as it used to do with the rest, on this case, it shows its main url PLUS a list of its topics as well just like in a sort of "cascade results" hence he is not only on the first place but also ocuppied themselves a quarter of the first page of the search engine on its own

Anyway, this was a silly question to ask on my side. Sorry :), this can be closed

SEO should be considered AFTER having a well established website, with post and TRAFFIC.

CONTENT should be a priority and not SEO myth. Spending time with technical issues and SEO myth will not help any site.

Make a site for USERS and VISITORS and forget SEO. Fresh and Unique content is what matters.

When you reach some point, then improve the basic SEO (insite SEO that is). Still if SEO could rank you better, everybody would rank tops.

I agree Dimalifragis, but, lets take my case for example, and this very website Im working on right now...

For what it is, and in the time its been created (sort of in two weeks or so), I believe that its as good as it can be regarding content. Of course it would need to improve but I can only do so now by getting more traffic on it which at the same time will add more content to and back to the first..... its a forum at the end of the day

I dont think its soon, otherwise, to start worrying about starts appearing in the search engines. Else who its going to feed the comments to make the already members to keep coming to read other posts, matters, etc etc....
