Hi,

we welcome new users on www.alkohol-ade.com with an extra posting and ask them to introduce themselves. it looks like this now:

1. "go to the forum xyz", to which we can provide a link to the forum.

2. "click on 'new topic' in the upper right area there".

A direct link so that a new post window opens immediately doesn't work, presumably because we can't trigger the script on that post. Would probably raise the conversion rate, if they can do it directly.

Is there some shortcode I'm missing?

Thanks for taking caring, Bernd

Hi @berndg,

wpForo has add-topic shortcode for the Menu: /%wpforo-add-topic%/

Also in Dashboard > Forums > Settings > General Tab there you can see  Forum Page Slugs (URL Paths) field, and there is add-topic URL, you use that URL to go to Add-topic page, for example` yourdomain/community/add-topic

Thanks for caring so fast. I knew the shortcodes for the menu, but did not remember the slugs.

As the purpose of my question is to open a new post automatically in a certain sub-forum to make it totally simple for the new user, I tried to to add the slug to the URL of that forum:

https://www.alkohol-ade.com/community/vorstellung-vorstellung/ add-topic/

Unfortunately, this results in a 404. But ...

https://www.alkohol-ade.com/community/add-topic/

... works without problems. Did I make a mistake or does it not work in this level?

The space in the first URL is added automatically for some reason, the try was with the correct URL

@berndg,

the /add-topic/ must be after /community/, this is the correct way to use it.

And of course it won't work if you add it after any forum slug.
