Please go to your WordPress active themes folder and rename wpforo folder,
the issue comes from your old customizations(custom codes)
@chris Do you mean rename the wp-content/plugins/wpforo folder and disable the plugin once?

It appears that this bug occurs when the [wpforo] shortcode has been expanded beforehand, such as when meta descriptions are generated by SEO plugins.
