Turning off wpForo inbuild SEO is now ruining your SEO.

ALL your topics now have the same canonical url, same title and descriptions are probably off. Check it for yourself.

Well... How do I solve this problem?

Having a the recent posts widget on a page outside of the forum should not take over the page title of the page. I am open to suggestions.

Any thoughts on how to fix this problem? It is pretty clear that the Recent Posts widget it taking over the page name when it clearly should not.

I have tried to use Yoast to manually rename the page so it shows correctly, but the widget keeps taking over. So the only way to fix is just turn off the WPForo SEO, which is not ideal.

I just ended up turning off the WPForo SEO since there is no apparent solution to this problem.

Why not use Yoast or SEOPress? And leave the issue as it is? Enable wpForo SEO.

Destroying your seo of the forums ... is not a good idea, IMHO.

This for example:

https://gopherpucklive.com/forum/general-discussion/totally-random-trivia-2022/

shows:

<title>Forum &bull; Gopher Puck Live</title>

WRONG !!

And NO description.

That is just it. I AM using Yoast. I try to overwrite my Portal page with Yoast settings and the WPForo widget still takes control of the page title and Canonical URL.

I guess I COULD try SEOPress since I have not tried that yet.

The bottom line is that this is a workaround to an issue with the Recent Posts widget. That widget should NOT be taking over the page title and canonical url.

So, because of ONE page issue, you decided to destroy your forums metas/seo?
