Hello,

I am being spammed by casinos like crazy so would like to block any username that contains slots, casino or gamble from being created.  Is this possible?  I have shield, forum anti spam, captcha and even email approval before account can be used or post made, but still get 10-20 casino almost daily - it's driving me nuts.

Any help appreciated

@pudzpud,

You can turn on the manual approval of new accounts in wpForo > Settings > Login & Registration admin page. Please read the doc:  https://wpforo.com/docs/wpforo-v2/settings/login-registration/#enable-user-manually-approval-system

@robert Thank you, I have changed from the email activation/set password option to manually approve registration instead.

You can try this

https://wordpress.org/plugins/ban-hammer/

but i don't know if it can be used with wildcards.

@dimalifragis Thank you, had not heard of this but on their page they say 'Stop Spammer' is even better so I'm having a look at that and may try it after I do a full backup.  I was unaware I could add additional wp plugins to help with the forum running - I thought I could only buy the extra modules for wpforo, so thanks for that (yes, I paid someone to sett his up and am a total novice) 😀

@pudzpud Yes, most people (if not all) think that wpForo is handling users/registrations/logins/emails.

The truth is that wpForo has some nice forms for ease. All the above are handled/queued from/to Wordpress core.
