Is it possible to provide a list in the plugin for reserved usernames, so others cannot use them?

Also, is there a way to list words that cannot be typed in the forum, for moderation purposes? Or a way to list a word as well as what should automatically be typed if someone tries to type the original word? Example: User tries to type sh$t, it would autocorrect to "poop" or whatever I insert there.

Thanks!

Yes, you can handle both of those with wpForo. For reserved usernames, wpforo doesn’t have a built-in list, but you can block or reserve certain names using wordpress filters or an add-on that checks registrations against a custom list. For word filtering, wpforo already includes a bad-word filter under its moderation settings, where you can add words to block or replace them with something else, just like in your example.

Where in the wpForo admin section would I put this list of usernames that we do not want people using?

Thanks for the info. Does wpForo have an add-on to address the username question?

Hi,

Is it possible to provide a list in the plugin for reserved usernames, so others cannot use them?

Please note that user registration and account creation are handled by WordPress. wpForo has no relation to this process. You’ll need to find a solution outside of wpForo.

Or a way to list a word as well as what should automatically be typed if someone tries to type the original word? Example: User tries to type sh$t, it would autocorrect to "p**p" or whatever I insert there.
